The Circular Congregational Church Mission Fund awards grants for innovative initiatives to 1) support outreach efforts by its members and 2) extend the mission and ministry of the church. Members and friends of Circular are encouraged to submit proposals that address human need, perform a ministry of reconciliation and peace-making, challenge injustice or racism in society, promote health and healing ministries, and counteract forces of poverty both locally and in the larger global community.
The Mission Fund focuses on funding new initiatives that do not have other sources of funding available to them. Grant awards generally range from $100 up to $2000 and re-application may occur annually. These grants are made possible through the Circular Church Endowment.
Projects should be consistent with the Covenant of the congregation and should demonstrate shared leadership and participation by Circular members/friends in a collaborative approach to program planning and implementation. Preference will be given to projects that serve residents in the Tri-County area (Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester).
The two funding cycle deadlines and award dates are:
- March 31, awarded April 18
- October 15, awarded November 14
